Prof. Namyoon Lee of POSTECH Appointed to the Executive Editorial Committee of IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications
Prof. Namyoon Lee of the Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH has been appointed as a member of the Executive Editorial Committee (EEC) of IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications (TWC), the world’s most prestigious journal in the field of wireless communications (Impact Factor: 10.7).
IEEE TWC is one of the most influential journals in wireless communications, and the EEC serves as its primary decision-making body, overseeing editorial direction, review standards, and overall publication quality. The committee is composed of only eight leading experts worldwide, and Prof. Lee’s appointment marks only the second time in history that a Korean researcher has been selected for this role—highlighting his academic excellence, technical expertise, and international standing in the research community.
Prof. Lee previously served as an Editor of IEEE TWC from 2020 to 2025, during which he was recognized for his substantial contributions to the peer-review process, ultimately leading to his selection as an EEC member.
Reflecting on the appointment, Prof. Lee stated, “It is a great honor to contribute to the advancement of one of the flagship journals in wireless communications. I will do my best to help maintain a rigorous and trusted scholarly ecosystem for researchers around the world.”
This appointment is a significant achievement for POSTECH’s Department of Electrical Engineering, demonstrating its world-class research capabilities and global impact. It is also expected to further strengthen the department’s competitiveness in wireless communications, 6G, and satellite communication research.
