The Department of Electrical Engineering was established to train scientists who are indispensable to achieve advanced-country status for Korea’s electronics industry. The Department’s goals are to educate top-quality students and to conduct research that is consistent with the objectives for which POSTECH was established: supporting intensive research with a small number of select students.

The aims of Computer science and engineering are to solve a wide range of problems in the world by offering innovative computing-based methods, contributing to the enhancement of human life and the advancement of future society. At POSTECH’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering, we make proactive investments to offer students the highest quality computing education and research environment, led by top-level faculty members. Our goal is to foster global talents who will lead the advancement of computer science and engineering, which will be at the forefront of the evolution of future technologies.

The Department of IT Convergence Engineering is the 11th department established at POSTECH in 2012 together with POSTECH Future IT Innovation Laboratory based on the 2011 Ministry of Knowledge Economy's project to nurture IT talents. All major courses from other departments are recognized as major electives, and the Department of IT Convergence Engineering fosters innovative talents with problem-solving capabilities and social entrepreneurship through “ICT-based convergence research” and “PBL-based self-directed learning”.

The Department of Semiconductor Engineering was established with the goal of nurturing global leaders who will safeguard Korea's semiconductor industry in the increasingly competitive landscape of future semiconductor technology development.

We aim to cultivate the best engineering talents based on fundamental and applied knowledge in all aspects of semiconductor, including materials, devices, processes, and design.

In particular, we will operate an intensive education program that allows students to complete their bachelor's and master's/Ph.D. integrated program in just six years, with the aim of fostering global leaders who will lead the future of the semiconductor industry.

At a national level, it seeks to secure advanced technologies in the field of information industry. Simultaneously, it conducts rigorous educational research through the recruitment of specialized personnel from related industries and outstanding students, with the goal of nurturing highly competent professionals in advanced specialized technologies."
